Happy Monday!

Good morning, friends! It’s been a while! Work & life has been keeping me pretty busy of late, but I am five days away from a nice long spring break – and I couldn’t be more excited and ready for some ME time!

I did take a stab at a few projects this weekend, but most of them are still drying (it was a paint & stain filled Sunday). My most exciting project, however, has been the photography class I am taking from Clickin Moms. I will tell you ALL about it after I wrap up the three week course – but I will tell you that, only one week in, I have already learned SO much about my camera & how to use it to create purposeful images!

My model this week had four legs and a little more fur than most of the kiddos & babies my classmates were shooting, but Emma was more than happy to bask in the sunlight in her favorite spot on top of our loveseat while I shot some images of her using natural light & manual focus.

And all I had to say was “bacon” to get her to look at me. Like mother, like dog-daughter I guess.

I had better luck shooting some stationary tulips – aren’t you just SO happy that it’s finally SPRING!??

Nothing like a cute pup & some cheery flowers to start off the week, right? I hope you have a great Monday!

Happy New Year!

Hello there, friends! I hope you are all well, happy & healthy on this first day of 2013! I’ve enjoyed a lovely break from work for the past week, including a little blogging break while I spent most of my free time binge-watching the first two seasons of Homeland. Great show, and I can’t believe it took me so long to check it out! Now that I am reeling from the season 2 finale, I thought I’d take a second to share with you some of my favorites moments of this past holiday week!

Christmas2012Collage

Little bits of happiness from my week- from the top left photo clockwise:

a beautiful dusting of snow on Christmas morning in my parent’s backyard  // my sweet little nephew enjoying a Christmas story on Christmas eve // crate of gifts under our Christmas tree (significantly emptier than pre-Christmas, but we still have some to give!) // the glow of a candle in an aluminum lantern, surrounded by pine cones & glittery balls // sparkling wine and our wedding toasting flutes to ring in the new year // our part cozy – part college-kid-esque New Year’s eve dinner. Dining by candlelight on our coffee table with our new wedding china and paper towels for napkins. We’ve got class AND we don’t buy real napkins. Bam.

New Year Resolutions for 2013? More family, friends, crafts and books – less take-out, stress, and overflowing laundry baskets.

What about you?

Printsta-Great!

Remember how I gushed about my love for Instagram & filtered photos?

One of my wedding DIY projects through the lens of Instagram + my iPhone 5!

Well I recently discovered Printstagram – an awesome service that creates beautiful prints & other items straight out of your Instagram feed.

You can order adorable little books (like the Minibook & the Tinybook), stickers, and even calendars for you ‘gramin fiends with 365 or more Instagram pics! (I’m not there yet, but love the idea!). Check out all of the products for yourself. (FYI- this post is not sponsored by Prinstagram – or anyone – just sharing my appreciation for these services & products!)

I opted for the Squares – a simple way to print your Instagram pics on nicely weighted paper with a matte finish & a clean white border.

One of my favorite photos from our wedding night- snapped by my new husband when we returned to our room to our loving pup!

You can’t beat the price- $12 for either 24 Squares or 48 Mini Squares. I ordered 24 of my favorite photos (mostly wedding pics – including some of the gorgeous shots taken by my amazing photogs shared by me via Instagram!)

(As if you can’t tell from the pink sash) this ‘gram of me & my two best friends is from my Bachelorette night!

The squares are 4×4″. And yes, my ruler offers fire prevention tips. An old giveaway, I suppose! 🙂

The pictures arrived super fast- in under a week. What a lovely little package to come home to!

That cutie pie in the sand is my darling nephew!

I loved them so much, I promptly went to my computer to order some more! I’ve got some ideas for ways to display & gift these pretty little prints!

Thanks, Prinstagram!
